Coastal Healing Arts is owned and operated by: Mette N. Lockwood, M.A., S-LP(C), CCC-Sp., Dip.TCM, R.Ac. Mette N. Lockwood received specialized training in the following areas: Speech-Language Pathology Mette is certified by CASLPA (Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists) as a speech-language pathologist and is registered with BCASLPA (British Columbia Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists). She is a certified member of ASHA (American Speech-Language Hearing Association and has the Certificate of Clinical Competence. She graduated with her Master of Arts Degree in Speech-Language Pathology in 1987. Since 1987 Mette has worked with preschoolers, children, teens and adults in various settings including schools, rehabilitation centre, special needs preschool and private practice. Acupuncture As an acupuncturist, Mette graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, B.C. in 2003. She is registered as an acupuncturist in B.C. with the CTCMA (College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of B.C.). Reiki In studying Reiki, Mette completed Level 1, Level 2 and the Master Level and is a certified Reiki Master in the Usui and Karuna Systems of Natural Healing. Mette is a registered Reiki Practitioner and Teacher with the Canadian Reiki Association. She has practiced Reiki since 1995. Reiki Drumming is also available. Yoga Mette has incorporated yoga and meditation into her daily life since 1986 and completed the Yoga Teacher Training Program at the Salt Spring Centre of Yoga in 2005. Holistic Nutrition Mette completed studies in Advance Holistic Nutrition from the Canadian Nutrition Institute in 1996.
